As a Senior Systems Engineer, you are responsible for the design, build, and overall management of our enterprise infrastructure deployed in the cloud.  Working alongside a team of technologists, the Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering an outstanding experience by ensuring that the services and applications they support are available, performant, and secure.  The Senior Systems Engineer needs to have intimate knowledge of cloud computing technologies, application architecture, automation/orchestration, integration architecture and governance models. This position reports to the Senior Manager, IT Systems Engineering -Employee Enablement.

Your Role in Action

  • Be the technical leader of Relativity’s core technology backbone, including but not limited to Azure Server infrastructure and cloud computing technology, Domain controllers, Storage, and Active Directory
  • Work closely and collaboratively with team members across different regions to effectively manage core responsibilities and OKR’s
  •  Create and maintain documentation such as design, dataflow, deployment and infrastructure diagrams.
  •  Provides technical support to users by troubleshooting problems and platform performance
  • Available to work rotating on-call, that includes weekends and holidays
  •  Provides technical assistance to other engineers and administrators. Trains team on latest advancements in technology, protocols, and best practices
  • Leads research in emerging technologies in support of system developments
  • Reviews company existing technology and systems architecture. Make recommendations for improvement or alternatives
  • Develops and executes test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reports findings for improvement

Your Skills:

  • 5 years of experience managing large enterprise infrastructure in a cloud environment including developing and deploying to cloud (Experience is Microsoft Azure is highly preferred)
  • Current certification in Azure, Google or AWS
  • Proven an analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Expert command and technical knowledge of Network, PC, platform operating systems, software, protocols and standards
  • Availability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed

Preferred Skills:

  • Automation – Powershell and Chef experience to help with automating repeatable tasks
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Serivces and Google Cloud
  • Automation – Powershell and Chef experience to help with automating repeatable tasks
  • Software – Microsoft Active Directory, Internet Information Services, MS SQL, and typical back-office product knowledge
  • VMware – vCenter, ESXi, vCloud Automation Center a plus
  • Storage – General knowledge of iSCSI vs Fiber Channel, NAS, and SAN
  • Networking – knowledge including routing, switching, and firewall concepts
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor when things are going wrong in order to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • A big picture mentality around solutions architecture and a Keep It Simple philosophy
  • Experience working in a large, enterprise environment
