Summertime, barbeques, and the Relativity Innovation Awards? That’s right! My favorite part of Relativity Fest, and I hope yours, is slowly making its way upon us.

We are thrilled to announce our 2024 Best Innovation nominees, as well as the opening of this year’s Community Choice voting (which takes place from July 9–August 16).

I don’t know about you, but this summer I’ll be enjoying time by the pool, a few margaritas (frozen, of course), and reading up on how the Relativity community is engraining technology into their day-to-day lives. You can feel it in the aiR: teams don’t just want to get to their most important data faster, but they want to learn more from their data, extract more insights from their data, and use that data to tackle more use cases. They want to do this ethically and securely. All while being on a centralized platform: RelativityOne.

If you want to see some examples of this in action, look no further than this year’s nominees. Want to see mappings of key locations? Sky Discovery has an app for that. Want to see the latest innovations using LLMs? Just check out what Control Risks, Troutman, Deloitte, and EY are doing. Looking for something that’s going to enhance the everyday experience for end users? Herbert Smith Freehills, KLDiscovery, Transperfect, and more are utilizing technology to reduce the pains of tedious tasks we all have to go through.

At the end of the day, these teams have truly embraced technology and innovation. They use it to not only help their internal teams, but their clients as well. So let’s celebrate this year’s nominees. Let’s celebrate their creativity and thought leadership.

And this year’s nominees are … WAIT! Did you think we were done? We can’t have all this talk about how teams are utilizing technology without recognizing our Relativity Developer Partners. You heard right: this year we have a new category that recognizes third-party software developers who design, build, and integrate applications for Relativity. Check out the nominees for the Developer Partner category below.

Which groups stand out to you? Vote for your favorites by August 16, and best of luck to all of this year’s nominees!

Behind the Scenes: How Your Votes Help Determine Our Winners

While the community voting period is just launching for this year’s Innovation Awards, we’ve been hard at work on the awards process for months now.

For those unfamiliar with how this long, thoughtful process works, we wanted to provide a little recap. Here is a quick timeline of what we’ve done so far and what to expect in the coming months.

  1. The nomination period opened to the community, allowing teams to submit their apps for consideration in this year’s awards.
  2. After nominations close, our internal awards team reached out to gather all the necessary submission materials from nominees.
  3. Once nominations are finalized and complete, the community vote opens—this is where we are today!
  4. On August 16, voting will close, and we’ll gather the final totals.
  5. An internal team of Relativity product experts then reviews all submissions with an eye for criteria like impact on customers’ businesses, uniqueness, and user interface. This team then casts their own votes for each category.
  6. Finalists and winners are determined based on a 50/50 balance of votes from the community and our internal committee.

With more than a decade of Innovation Awards under our belts, the process is just about down to a science—and, each year, it’s an opportunity to look closer at just how creative our community can be. We hope you’ll consider submitting your own apps for consideration in 2025!
