How to Get the Most Out of Relativity Fest 2020

McKenna Brown

Relativity Fest 2020 kicks off in less than a week, and to say we’re looking forward to it is an understatement.

While the conference will certainly look different this year, you can rest assured that you’ll find the depth and breadth of learning opportunities you’ve come to expect from Relativity Fest. A packed schedule of educational sessions, social opportunities, awards, and hands-on activities awaits.

There are a few things you can do now to help you get the most out of your virtual Relativity Fest experience. So open your calendar, grab those sticky notes, and start making a plan.

Make Sure You’re Registered

Step one may be painfully obvious, but it’s also crucial: Make sure you’re registered! You won’t be able to view any of this great content without registering first, and we’ll send out important platform-related information in an email to registrants before we officially kick off next week.

Registration is free and only takes a minute or two, so check that off your list to make sure you don’t miss a thing. While you’re at it, double check that relativityfest@relativity.com is on your approved senders list.

Create a Loose Schedule

Your Relativity Fest experience always benefits from a little planning, and this year’s virtual event is no different.

If you haven’t already checked out the full agenda, you really should! Choose from 12 educational tracks, or mix and match sessions from multiple tracks to create your perfect Fest schedule. We also wrote this quick guide to the agenda, which should help as you’re making your plan.

Block off your calendar for can’t-miss sessions like the opening keynote and the Judicial Panel, and make sure you make time for the product general sessions—they cover features and processes that everyone can benefit from learning about, like the new Aero UI and how to seamlessly transition to RelativityOne.

Because our community spans the globe, we created agendas with EMEA- and APAC-specific time zones. Attendees in the APAC region can also attend two live international sessions just for them: Spotlight Australia and the APAC Market Update.

And no need to feel glued to your computer nonstop, or fret if you miss something next week: All sessions will be available on demand until October 31.

Get Involved

Your Relativity Fest experience gets better the more you participate, and it might be even more important at a virtual Fest.

Hands-on exercises return this year with a decidedly 2020 twist: You can do them from home! Head to the Relativity Experience in the event platform throughout the week of Fest, Monday through Friday, to dive deep into the latest and greatest in Relativity. See the full list of hands-on exercises here.

Have a question or comment during a live session? Let the presenter know! Use the chat box to communicate directly with the speakers or other attendees during live sessions and get your questions answered.

Best of all, the more you participate, the more experience points (XP) you earn. If you’re one of the top earners at the end of Fest, you can win some truly awesome prizes—like AirPods Pro, Amazon gift cards, and noise-canceling headphones.

Make Time for Fun

Virtual networking sessions are very 2020, and there’s no shortage to choose from at Relativity Fest.

Try your hand at a cooking class with Top Chef’s Stephanie Cmar—you can even download the ingredient list ahead of time. The whole family can get involved in Storytime with Steve, where you’ll explore classic interactive gamebooks and get to vote on what happens next. Or join Gold Sponsor and RelativityOne Certified Partner JND eDiscovery for a friendly game of Cards Against Relativity: A Virtual Card Game for Horrible Relativians!

Be sure to check out the projects at the first Developer Hackathon at Relativity Fest. We need your votes to determine the winner for People’s Choice; a panel of judges will pick Most Creative and Most Innovative.

And you can’t miss the annual Innovation Awards, which will kick off the last day of Relativity Fest. Tune in to see which organizations and individuals won awards for building innovative solutions, breaking down barriers for technology in the practice of law, and moving e-discovery forward. Will there be another Tropheo appearance? Only one way to find out.

Finally, if you’re curious about exams, RCE credits, or anything else, check out the FAQs—we've answered a lot of the most common questions. And check out the video below, where Relativity Senior Events Specialist Blair Heidenreich goes over some day-of details.

We’ll see you next week!
