In our 25 years as a legal technology leader, Relativity has continually transformed to meet the new and growing needs of the legal industry. We’ve been there, with you, helping to redefine, reshape, and reimagine what this industry is and how the work gets done.

We've navigated every major shift this industry has seen – from paper to digital, from on-premises to the cloud – and each era demanded we deliver something new to serve our customers well.

When capable generative AI arrived, it was the beginning of a new era. We started building on generative AI in late 2022 and shipped our first product for document review in 2023. At the time, the question was whether a model could be trusted to make a relevance call on your documents.

Since then, our application of generative AI has expanded from relevance to issues, privilege, confidentiality, and custom reviews. It has made appearances in validation studies, in ESI protocol negotiations, and, this July, in a courtroom, where a judge determined generative AI review should be evaluated under the same core principles as technology-assisted review.

What started as a question about document review became a broader one about what a legal practitioner could accomplish with this type of access and insight into data. The answer is that it unlocks opportunities across many matter types and use cases. Now, more than half the new workspaces created by our customers aren’t for litigation at all.

Our industry is now fully entrenched in the era of the AI platform, where legal data is paired with purpose-built agentic capabilities to drive stronger outcomes and expand legal teams' matter intelligence. That's what we've been building: a system of record that securely houses your most sensitive and complex data at extraordinary scale, and a system of action that reads deeply into the documents, pairing agents with human judgment to surface insights and turn them into impactful work product.

Today, we are giving that platform a name that reflects what it has become: RelativityOne is now Relativity aiR, the AI platform for legal data intelligence.

It's the name we've already been using for our suite of agentic AI capabilities, and now it's the name for everything: one trusted, secure platform where AI and data converge to empower legal practitioners to act with speed, confidence, and certainty.

What’s in a Name?

Relativity aiR is the new name for the platform you already use. Having one name for the platform and another for the AI inside it implied that the two were separable. At this point, they’re not.

AI now handles more of the high-volume legal work that used to consume thousands of hours, empowering legal teams to uncover insights faster and make smarter, more strategic decisions. Relativity aiR has delivered more than 620 million high-value legal results – professional work that a qualified human confirmed and used on real matters – across customer matters in 2026, as of September 9. Questions that require an agent to read across the record and reason about what it says in order to generate an answer are growing 44 percent month over month.

Our focus is on the AI capabilities that we believe will continue to accelerate how our community works in this era:

  • AI embedded natively throughout the platform, accelerating the work you're already doing.
  • AI agents that open up new kinds of work, including asking questions you couldn't ask of your data before and turning the answers into work product.
  • Simpler experiences built around those AI agents, enabling a broader set of practitioners.
  • The extensibility of our AI, which enables our powerful community to solve new and unique legal challenges.

Relativity aiR's AI capabilities are included in the platform's current pricing, so customers on 2026 terms have access to every agentic tool as part of their platform, with the value flowing through the work itself rather than a separate line item. You consume the platform, and the AI comes with it.

Today, we’re celebrating the platform we’ve built – and what we’re working toward – with its new name. The brand is representative of something much greater: the trust and verified outcomes that make Relativity aiR the AI platform for legal data intelligence.

Note that there are no changes to contracts, matters, workflows, integrations, workspaces, permissions, or security certifications, and choices about whether, when, and how to use and direct an AI agent, as well as how to evaluate and use its outputs, remain with the legal practitioner.

Built on What You Already Trust

Legal teams like yours are realizing the value of the legal AI platform in tangible, incredible ways. It now handles more of the high-volume work that used to consume thousands of hours – enabling legal teams to uncover insights faster and make smarter, more strategic decisions.

These aren't isolated wins. More than 40 published customer stories now document the same pattern across firms, corporations, agencies, and partners: multimillion-dollar savings on single matters, reviews that once took months finished in days, review populations cut by 90 percent or more, and precision as high as 99.8 percent, in matters from litigation to breach response.

We’ve seen this transformation firsthand:

  • Reed Smith saved $2.3 million and 11,300 review hours, plus accelerated witness prep, in a high-stakes litigation.
  • intelligENS and BDBF realized 94+ percent review reduction across 130,000+ documents, with a 99.8 percent precision rate and production completed in as little as 48 hours on one DSAR.
  • Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer reviewed roughly 100,000 documents in 12 hours in, to the team’s knowledge, one of the first deployments of generative AI at this scale in English High Court disclosure.
  • A pharma company complied with a regulatory request involving several terabytes of data on time, with 90+ percent recall, zero unreviewed document risk, and a final production set exceeding 50,000 documents, inside a single month.
  • Baker McKenzie leveraged aiR alongside human expertise to successfully deliver results across two cyber incident responses, delivering structured, notification-ready lists under regulatory deadlines, avoiding review of ~300,000 documents, and cutting extraction effort by ~75 percent.

These are real matters, yielding tangible business value, running on a platform that legal teams trust with their most sensitive data.

That trust is earned through an approach that leverages agentic tools but keeps the user in the driver’s seat, and is built around transparency and defensibility that are required when work is challenged and scrutinized. Because our AI comes to the evidence – and not the other way around – there’s nothing to move and no chain of custody to manage. You can just focus on the work.

It’s All Here: A Platform Built for Where Legal Work Happens

Everything legal teams need in the age of AI – the data, the intelligence, the work product, the community – is in Relativity aiR, connecting your work end to end. And we’re not done.

In recent months, we've advanced the platform to serve a broader group of users, including the lawyers making judgment calls on each matter as well as the legal data and technology teams working alongside them. Relativity claiR, currently in Advanced Access, is our latest demonstration of that expansion, opening the entire legal record to lawyers through conversational AI.

We have also been solving more legal data intelligence use cases, from litigation and internal investigations to data breach responses and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Fifty-seven percent of new workspaces in Relativity aiR this year serve matters beyond litigation. Agents and workflows throughout the platform help teams achieve those high-value results with confidence, security, and ease.

That reach now extends to the very start of a matter. Assist is now available inside repository workspaces, so teams can ask questions of incoming data, surface hot documents, and scope a matter before deciding what to promote into a review workspace. Early case assessment becomes early case intelligence.

Relativity aiR is also about meeting legal professionals where they work. We acquired Gavel to bring Relativity aiR directly into Microsoft Word, so the intelligence that lives in the platform can follow lawyers into the documents they're drafting. And our MCP integrations mean that external enterprise AI agents, like Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise, can now orchestrate matters and workflows within Relativity aiR – with every action audited, every decision traceable, and your data staying exactly where it belongs.

Whether you're a lawyer formulating an argument or prepping to write a brief, or a technologist building a workflow, Relativity aiR is your end-to-end AI platform for legal data intelligence. We’re finding new ways to bring that platform to you, so you don’t have to go to it. There are now multiple entry points, so a lawyer in Word, a reviewer in a workspace, and an administrator talking to an assistant are all directing the same governed system underneath.

If there's one thing the last 25 years has taught us, it's that what comes next won't be built by Relativity alone – it never has been. The best of what's possible comes from this community. The practitioners, partners, and innovators who push boundaries so that, together, we can reimagine legal.
